Today Microsoft announced its Windows 8.1 smart phones. On this the most attractive thing is the new featured added by Microsoft called “Cortana“. Cortana is the Microsoft developed personal digital assistant. The new Windows 8.1 device will be shipped at late April or early May.
Cortana is the same like Google Now and Apple Siri, which completely replace the search function on windows phones. Just launching it, it takes users to a guide of How to use your device. At this time Cortana is at beta version, and hoping to soon get more updates on it.
It is similar like Google Now and Apple Siri, which is a artificial assistant for you. Microsoft’s personal assistant ( Cortana) can give you a list of restaurants (powered by Yelp), keep track of your appointments, give you reminders, track the weather, and answer questions about the world in general. Best of all, Cortana can be extended with third-party apps (Skype, Hulu, and Facebook were all shown off), which is naturally why Microsoft is revealing her at its developer conference.
With the Windows 8.1 users will have more tile on their home screen with the new “high density” layout is configured under settings, inside the ‘Start+Theme’ area. Additionally, users can also add their own selected photos and can also crop it with the suitable dimension.
Joe Belfiore, Microsoft CVP of Operating Systems Group, called Windows Phone “the most personal smartphone” before announcing two new hardware partners at the start of the kenote: Micromax and Prestigio. These join the existing list of 10 hardware partners: Gionee, HTC, Huawei, Karbonn, Lenovo, LG, Nokia, Samsung, Xolo, and ZTE.
