The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus boast an all-new durable and colorful design, improved display, better cameras, and faster performance.

Design: 

The new models feature a revamped design with durable and colorful new back glass available in 5 attractive colors - pink, yellow, green, blue, and black. The glass back incorporates color into the glass itself for a unique look. 

The polished matte finish on the textured back glass gives a comfortable and luxurious in-hand feel. The smooth rounded corners and contoured edges improve the grip. The Ceramic Shield front remains tough and scratch resistant.

Display: 

The display is upgraded with higher peak brightness up to 2000 nits for better visibility in sunlight. The OLED display supports high dynamic range content playback with great contrast and vivid colors.

The models feature the new pill-shaped dynamic island housing the front camera and Face ID sensors. This fluid and interactive area seamlessly expands to display alerts, notifications, and ongoing background activities.

Cameras: 

The rear camera system sees a major upgrade with the introduction of a 48MP main camera that enables the capture of incredible detail and clarity in photos. Pixel binning produces sharp 12MP photos as default while the full 48MP resolution can be used in Pro mode. A new 2x telephoto lens is added to provide optical zoom up to 3X. The ultra-wide camera is 12MP as before.

The TrueDepth front camera is upgraded to 12MP. Overall low light performance is improved including better Night mode across all three cameras. Portrait mode now automatically uses depth sensing to create a professional looking bokeh effect without needing to specifically enable portrait mode.

Performance: 

Under the hood, the new A16 Bionic chip delivers improved CPU and GPU performance versus last year's iPhone 14 models for faster and snappier responsiveness across iOS. Gaming, augmented reality experiences and camera processing are significantly faster thanks to the upgraded 6-core CPU, 5-core GPU, and new 16-core neural engine.

Battery Life: 

The battery life sees a nice bump thanks to efficiency improvements, promising the longest battery life ever on an iPhone for watching videos, streaming music, and other everyday uses.

Connectivity: 

The models feature the latest cellular connectivity standards including 5G and eSIM support. Wi-Fi 6 provides faster speeds over wireless internet connections. The Lightning port is swapped for the more universally used USB-C port enabling faster transfers, syncing, and charging.

The models retain a glass back and Ceramic Shield front. The side button is replaced by a customizable Action button that can be set to quickly launch selected apps or features.

Display: 

The bright OLED display gets the new always-on technology that keeps selected content visible even when the screen is locked and idle. This allows users to quickly glance at time, widgets, or other information without needing to wake or unlock the phone. 

The ProMotion technology enables the display to dynamically adjust refresh rates between 10 to 120 Hz for optimizing battery life and smooth visual performance.

ProMotion is a new technology that delivers refresh rates of up to 120Hz for fluid scrolling, greater responsiveness and smoother motion content.

ProMotion also improves display quality and reduces power consumption by automatically adjusting the display refresh rate to match the movement of the content.

Cameras: 

The Pro camera system is significantly upgraded and packed with pro features. It is led by a new large 48MP main camera with a quad-pixel sensor enabling incredible levels of detail. 

A periscope style 5x optical zoom Telephoto camera is added to the Pro Max and provides up to 15x total zoom range. This gives users great flexibility for close-up shots as well as distant subjects. 

Portrait mode is improved with abilities like depth capture while shooting normally without needing to specifically enable portrait mode, and change focus points post capture. 

The low light performance sees a boost across all three rear cameras and the front TrueDepth camera, enabled by the Photonic Engine and LiDAR scanner.

Performance: 

The brand new A17 Bionic chip unlocks higher levels of performance and efficiency. The 6-core CPU, 5-core GPU, and next-gen Neural Engine deliver substantial improvements over the already fast A16 Bionic in iPhone 15. This supercharged chip brings desktop-class performance for demanding workflows. Gaming is taken to the next level with support for cutting edge features like ray tracing.

Pro Features: 

The Pro models are designed to meet the needs of professional and creative users. The camera offers workflows like ProRAW capture, ProRes video recording up to 4K 60fps direct to external storage, Log video encoding, and HDMI output.
