Facebook quietly announced the retiring of the its old like box which is same as current like button. Like box is what website admin and bloggers use it on their site to like a respective page. The embed would also show off some of the other people who liked a given Page.
On the developer page of the Like box, Facebook notify about the ending of the Like Box on June 23rd. Company says that after the release of the new Graph API v2.3, the Like Box plugin is deprecated.
Facebook recommends its users to use the newer version of the Page Plugin, which have the same function as Like Box. This latest plugin have cleaner look and is able to pull in content feeds from your Facebook Page if you want.
Users are guided to add new Graph API in order to enable the newer plugin.
