Today Facebook announced the killing of its messenger service on Windows platform. On the desktop messenger apps Facebook have a prompting notification saying the app is shutting down next week on 3rd March.
“We’re sorry, but we can no longer support Facebook Messenger for Windows, and it will stop working on March 3, 2014,” message reads on top of the app. “We really appreciate you using Messenger to reach your friends, and we want to make sure you know that you can keep chatting and view all your messages on http://www.facebook.com. Learn more.” link follows to the official messenger page of the Facebook help.

Earlier a day before Microsoft have announced a Facebook Messenger app for its Windows phone, which can be arrived in coming week.
Joe Belfiore, Microsoft’s corporate vice president and manager of Windows Phone, says to TechCrunch that they are working with Facebook for testing and implementing the service over Windows Phone.
On this regards Facebook spokesman quoted,
“I can confirm that we are notifying people who use Facebook Messenger for Windows that it will no longer be available as of March 3,”Along with the Desktop messenger, Facebook is also killing its service from Firefox browser, same on the Help Center page supports for Firefox have been pulled out.
