Facebook officially launches 'Trending' Features on your News Feeds, terending features on facebook, facebook announcement, mashable news, facebook trending features, announcement by facebook

Facebook today officially announced the Trending features, a new section on your News Feeds. This is one of the awesome features that Facebook was testing from last 2012. Trending features shows the popular post or topics that is getting popular or most number of people are talking about it.

This features is same a twitter Trends, that gives the populate tweets or the keyword used by the users. It seems that, Facebook have made this announcement to combat with twitter, and help its users to discover content that wouldn't normally surface in their News Feed. This feature is available at the top right-hand corner of the screen and users can review more topics by selecting the ‘See More’ option.

If you haven't got this features yet on your profile, then don't worry soon you will have it on your News feeds.

Facebook says that, Trending list is personalized, based on the topics or page that your are interested in, as well as the keyword that are trending worldwide. The feature is rolling out in selected countries, on the web interface, but soon it will get worldwide. Facebook also mention that, they will begin testing the Trending on mobile device shortly.

Chris Struhar, engineering manager for Facebook say's -

“As with other features, expect continuous improvements from us over time,”
