Do you remember the global protest campaign 'Reset The Net' against NSA ?  If you remembered that more than 100+ companies from the world wide have joined together for the campaign. On the same day all of them promised to bring a additional security features or change the security measures over their service.

For that WordPress have implemented SSL connection to its own hosted WordPress sites and Google, Yahoo and others too have implemented better security measures to protect their users privacy.

Now for the same free global CDN and DNS provider 'CloudFlare'  have also complete its promise yesterday night. CloudFlare have doubled SSL usage within a night only. CloudFlare deployed its Universal SSL feature, offering free SSL encryption to any site that opted in. All told, that meant two million new sites with the feature, effectively doubling encryption on the web overnight.

Implementing SSL connection is nice steps to protect the sites and your users privacy, and same things have also implemented by other tech giants. SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is a standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a server and a client. You can see a green padlock icon in the browser's URL bar, for the site which have SSL enable.
